Well we promised you we were going to announce something exciting…. and here it is
The Irish Kettlebell Sports Championships which takes place in Kilkenny on Saturday 13th July will be the first in the series of competitions to make up the “Four Nations Kettlebell Tournament”. Kettlebell athletes across the 4 nations, Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales are being challenged to step up to the platform over a series of competitions to decide who really is the best lifter in each weight category in Long Cycle/Biathlon across the 4 Nations. At the end of the tournament the Ultimate Four Nations Champions will be crowned. There will also be overall club and country awards. The Four Nations Tournament will be run in association with the recently formed Girevoy Sport Union of UK and Ireland (GSU)* President: Anton Anasenko
*GSU is not affiliated to just one international organisation (IUKL, IGSF, WKC, EGSA, RGSF). It promotes all international organisations and encourages athletes to compete in all federations. Competitions will be open to both Members of GSU and non-members.
Hold Fire on the questions for now as we will be posting up ALL the details and rules this week. It is important to also state that the 4 competitions are treated as separate competitions and will have events in Long Cycle and Biathlon to cater for beginner lifters and those not interested in competing for the overall title. Lifters from other countries outside the four nations are also welcome to participate in any competition.
