Anti-Doping in Sport

All athletes have the right to compete in sport knowing that they, and their competitors, are clean.

After a couple of requests for double kettlebell events to be included in competitions for women, GSU members voted on the issue and the results were unanimously in favour of including the option of two bells for women too!

Initially the double bell events will be rolled in with single bells for medals so we are not further watering down the numbers within each category.

So this means at all GSU events going forward there will still be one overall champion for female biathlon & long cycle, and, for example if someone lifts 2x16kg they are in with those lifting 1x16kg with scoring based (as it is currently) on tonnage.

This might not be an ideal long term solution but initially will allow us to introduce the double kettlebell events relatively fairly and painlessly. Running almost as a trial to judge uptake and fairness of this as a scoring system so it can be put to a full members review at the end of the year to decide any changes going forward to the 2017 competition season.
