The English Open took place on the 11th April in the beautiful surroundings of Newquay in Cornwall. Hosted by Cornwall kettlebell club who put on a great event featuring free post weigh-in pasties, competitor t-shirts and a relaxed and friendly competition atmosphere!

Thanks as always to the hosts,  those who helped with judging and competition logistics on the day and also our main sponsor Wolverson Fitness who as well as providing kettlebells also sponsored the competitor t-shirts this time round.

London September 1st 2013 saw the first GSU British Championships,  held at the Reebok Sports Club in Canada Square, Canary Wharf and hosted by Brighton Girevoy Sports Club.

With eight countries represented and over 85 athletes registered, this event was set to be great and it did not fail to deliver! Not only did we have the best lifters from the UK, Denmark and The Netherlands lifting but also three champions from Russia. Anton Anasenko [HMS], Aleksander Khvostov [WCMS] and Natalia Gorbynova [MS]. It was amazing to see these masters of the sport lift along side us.  The reps were flying and Anton  demonstrated a personal record in snatch (207 reps +1 on his previous best).

GSU would like to thank Wolverson Fitness for supplying the kettlebells for the event and also for their continued support for kettlebell sport competitions within the UK.
